This is a monthly update where I share what I’ve been working on recently. For the previous installment, check out the March 2024 Update.
In April I shipped social login, onboarding improvements, redesigned the blog post layout, and published some new blog posts.
Social Login & Signup
You can now sign up and log in to Teaminal with Google or Slack! This will hopefully remove friction from the signup process, but even more importantly, will enable one-click signup from the Slack App Directory. Otherwise you’d have to click through to Teaminal, sign up, then enable the Slack integration.
As part of this work, I also redesigned the authentication pages a bit:
Post-Signup Onboarding
While I was working on the signup flow, I also added two post-signup onboarding steps encouraging you to invite teammates and enable your first integration, respectively. I was hesitant to do this for a long time since I generally skip these steps myself, but they must work since they’re so widely used.
New Blog Posts
I also published a few new blog posts this month:
- We Explored the Best Kanban Tools You Should Check Out
- Agile vs. Scrum: Differences, Similarities & Applications
- How We Recommend Optimizing Daily Standup Meetings
- We Found the Best Agile Estimation Techniques for Accurate Planning
Business Update
On the business front, April was far and away my best month ever for signups, nearly doubling the previous record! This is mostly attributable to a big traffic bump from Google, and conversion rate has been steady for the last few months.
On the content front, I fell behind on my goal of putting out 100 blog posts this year, so next month I’ll be playing catch up.
Next Month
My only goal for May is to get into the Slack App Directory. I think I’ve already done most of the work to address their concerns from the last time I submitted the app, so hopefully it’s smooth sailing!
I also need to put out 11 or 12 posts to get back on track for my goal, so I’m not sure I’ll have time for much beyond Slack and that. If I do, the next goal is just submitting to more app stores - Jira, GitHub, GitLab, etc.
Update: The May 2024 Update is the next post in this series.
