This is a monthly update where I share what I’ve been working on recently. For the previous installment, check out my February 2024 Update.
March was a good month! I caught up on a bunch of small issues that I’d noticed over the past few months and published a bunch of blog posts. It felt like a nice breather!
New Blog Posts
As I mentioned last month, I wanted to get on track to a target of 100 blog posts published in 2024, which meant I needed to put out 11 blog posts in March. It turns out that’s kind of a lot! I did indeed hit the goal, though! Here are the posts:
- Here’s How We Optimize for Sprint Velocity in Agile
- Here’s How We Optimize Retrospective Meetings (Plus Best Practices for Success)
- 7 Agile & Scrum Podcasts You Should Check Out
- 8 Software Engineering Podcasts We Recommend
- Product Manager vs. Product Owner: Key Differences
- How Acceptance Criteria Connect Developers and Stakeholders
- Capacity Planning Tools and Techniques for Efficient Resource Management
- The Definition of Done: Navigating Its Importance in Agile Frameworks
- 10 Essential Tips for Planning a Successful Kick Off Meeting
- Exploring the Benefits of Joining the Project Management Institute
- Mastering Agile with Scrum Alliance: Courses and Certifications Breakdown
Fixes & Improvements
As I mentioned, fixes and improvements was what the month was all about! Here they all are:
- Re-styled the features dropdown on the marketing site
- Updated the “trusted by” logos on the marketing site
- Addressed on-site SEO issues from Ahrefs
- When a Slack channel is archived or deleted, remove that channel from any teams using it
- Fix error when reporting on metrics across all teams
- For admins, show a banner about updating team settings instead of their individual notification settings
- Show all members of an organization the card allowing them to invite teammates (if the join link is enabled)
- Add a link to user settings from your own profile page
- Update references from “account settings” to “user settings”
- Fix bug where retro reminders didn’t respect teams’ anonymous retro preferences
- Don’t let you delete your user if you’re the only admin, force you to promote another user or delete the organization
- Stop enabling reminders by default for new signups
- Use date input for retro reminder start date instead of text input
- Fix bug where only 50 issues could be loaded from Jira on retros or status updates
Next Month
My top priorities next month are building login with Slack and getting listed in the Slack App Directory. After that, I’m going to try for any other marketplaces I’m not already in. And, of course, publishing another 8 or 9 new blog posts.
Update: The April 2024 Update is the next post in this series.
