This is a monthly product update where I share what I’ve been working on recently. For the previous installment, check out the October 2022 Update.
Configurable Refines
The backlog refinement feature now integrates with Jira and lets you configure the options your team can vote for.
The default options are “Ready,” “Not ready,” “Blocked,” and “Close,” but you can set those to anything. For example, you could hook it up to Jira’s priority field and have options for P1-P4. The Jira field you choose does have to accept text values, though.
Email Reminders
Reminders for standup, retro, and outstanding pokers/refines will now be sent by email if you don’t have a Slack integration enabled. Users can opt out of receiving reminder emails from the account settings page.
Improved Onboarding
I made a few changes to simplify the signup flow and improve onboarding:
- Remove the company name field from the signup form - I now infer it from the user’s email address
- Change the label for “Your corporate email” to just “Email”
- Add a note to the onboarding page letting you know how to get back there if you hide the onboarding banner
Update: The December 2022 Update is the next post in this series.
